This policy applies to howrahplumbing.com.au, operated by Howrah Plumbing Pty Ltd T/A Howrah Plumbing (ABN 27 009 555 462). It covers information we collect through this website only. It does not cover information you give us in other ways, such as over the phone, on site, or on paper.

It should be read alongside our terms and conditions. Depending on what you do on the site, you may be asked to agree to additional terms.

Website visitors

Like most websites, we collect the non-identifying information that browsers and servers routinely make available: browser type, language preference, the site you came from, and the date and time of each request. We use it to understand how people use the site so we can improve it. We may publish this kind of information in aggregate, for example a summary of which pages are most read. None of it identifies you.

Information you give us

You can use this site without telling us anything about yourself. If you want us to get in touch, you will need to give us some details. We collect them through the enquiry form on our contact page, the service agreement form on our wastewater page, and the online booking tool on our book a plumber page.

Depending on which of those you use, we may collect:

• Your name, email address and phone number, so we can reply to you.
• The address of the property, where the enquiry is about work at a specific site.
• What you tell us about the job, including anything you add in a message or notes field.
• For wastewater service agreements, the brand of system installed at the property.
• How you heard about us, where you choose to tell us.

We ask for what we need to quote and carry out the work, and nothing more. There are no user accounts on this site, so you never need to create one or set a password.

How we use it

We use the details you give us to respond to your enquiry, to book and complete the work, and to contact you about that job. If you have asked us about a service agreement, we will use them to set that up and to arrange the servicing it covers.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not pass it to anyone for their own marketing.

Who else can see it

Running the site means using a small number of third-party services. Each of them handles information under its own privacy terms as well as ours:

• Netlify. Hosts this website and processes the enquiry and booking forms on it. Form submissions are stored on Netlify before being sent to us.
• Google Analytics. Tells us how people find and move through the site. It records visits, not identities, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.
• Google Maps. Provides the office maps in the footer. Loading a map means Google may set cookies in your browser.
• Podium. Runs the chat button on every page. If you start a chat or send a text message through it, your name, phone number and message are sent to Podium so we can reply.
• Simpro. Runs the online booking tool on our Book a Plumber page. Anything you enter there is submitted to Simpro under their own privacy terms as well as this policy.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to protect our rights, our staff or the safety of others.

Cookies and analytics

A cookie is a small piece of information a website stores in your browser, which your browser sends back on your next visit. We use cookies to understand how the site is used and to keep it working properly. We do not use them to serve advertising.

If you would rather not accept cookies, you can set your browser to refuse them before using the site. Some parts of the site, including the maps and the online booking tool, may not work properly without them.

Security

The security of your information matters to us, and we take reasonable steps to protect it. No method of transmitting information over the internet or storing it electronically is completely secure, though, so we cannot guarantee it absolutely.
